Through a combination of knowledge development and hands-on skill practice, you’ll learn how to identify and respond to life-threatening emergencies (primary care). Learn how to identify a stroke, handle a spinal injury, administer CPR & gain other essential lifesaving skills. An Automated External Defibrillation (AED) can increase someone’s odds of surviving cardiac arrest by up to 50 percent. Learn how to deploy and use an AED & perform basic CPR.
During the secondary care part of the course, you’ll learn how to handle injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening. Learn how to bandage & splint injuries, burn care, what to do following an animal bite or sting & other basic first aid skills.

| Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) The Emergency First Response First Aid at Work (Great Britain) is designed for the purpose of meeting the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This programme meets the statutory needs of employers in England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland needing at least one First Aider on the premises. The course includes both primary care (CPR) & secondary care (first aid) teaching you what to do in the critical moments between when a life-threatening emergency occurs & when emergency medical services arrive. Learn how to perform CPR, provide first aid that eases pain, assess a variety of injuries & illnesses & practice bandaging and splinting. | Emergency First Response Care For Children This course teaches participants how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children (ages one to eight) & infants (less than one year old). Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, & how they differ from adults. The course includes both primary care (CPR) & secondary care (first aid) skills. The primary care portion of the course prepares the rescuer to help an infant or child with a life-threatening emergency such as choking or cardiac arrest. Secondary care focuses on developing first aid skills & building the rescuer’s confidence to help an infant or child in need when emergency medical services are either delayed or unavailable. The Care for Children course content is based on guidelines from the Pediatric Working Group of ILCOR. | Refresher Courses Time to refresh your CPR & first aid skills? Do you hold an EFR CPR or First Aid certificate already or one from another training organization? If so, you are eligible to attend the Emergency First Response Refresher course. Plus, you can get Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training at the same time you refresh your CPR skills. Can be done every 3 years, or refresh your knowledge annually so you are up to date with the latest guidelines. | 4hrs £45pp 12 students maximum |
